FIELD-BASED REHABILITATION
Field-based rehabilitation is a specialised approach to physiotherapy that takes treatment beyond the clinic and into the real environments where athletes train and compete. Rather than focusing solely on gym or treatment-room exercises, field-based rehabilitation involves sport-specific drills, movement patterns, and progressive loading performed on the field, court, or track.
This key approach allows physiotherapists to assess how the body responds to real game demands such as acceleration, change of direction, jumping, and reactive movements. By replicating the physical and cognitive stresses of sport, field-based rehabilitation helps bridge the gap between injury recovery and safe return to play.
Return to Run Rehabilitation
Rather than immediately resuming previous training levels, our team use a progressive program that gradually reintroduces running loads and running complexities, including deceleration, acceleration and change of direction while monitoring pain, strength, and movement quality.
Return to Contact Rehabilitation
This is designed to safely prepare athletes to resume high-impact contact sports such as rugby league and wrestling after an injury. This stage of rehabilitation focuses on rebuilding full strength, stability, and mobility while progressively exposing the athlete to the physical demands of absorbing contact, grappling, resisting opponents and tackling opponents.
Game Simulation Rehabilitation
The final piece of the puzzle. Our team will carefully design drills that mimic sport-specific movements and match competition intensities to ensure athletes are mentally and physically ready to return to play.
